Singapore, the place I grew up in, where every corner feels familiar, yet still finds ways to surprise me. Photographing this city has become a quiet way of seeing it again, with new POV.

The everyday scenes, hawker stalls, old uncles reading the paper, shadows falling across HDB blocks, carry stories I used to overlook.

This journey isn't just about capturing images; it's about rediscovering where I came from.

Strolling through Haji Lane, I spotted four makciks in black and white tudung, quietly chilling on the stools. I was about to take the shot, then one of them turned and looked right at me. And just like that, her glance gave the photo its meaning.

A typical Saturday afternoon in Chinatown.

Uncles chilling in the background, conversations buzzing.

But this uncle sat still on a plastic stool, newspaper in hand, in his own world. A quiet pause in the middle of it all.
